航海士(Maritime Operations - Watchkeeper Deck)

コースで学ぶ内容

船の運行、航海や荷役に関する業務の遂行のため、甲板部の業務の管理をしたり、甲板業務を行います。その他、船の位置を肉眼、レーダーで確認、時には太陽や星を計測、あるいは人工衛星を利用し、船の位置を確認します。

このコースは、西オーストラリア州パースにある州立専門学校TAFE WA - South Metropolitan TAFEFremantle（フリーマントル）キャンパスで開講されています。

Diploma of Maritime Operations [Watchkeeper Deck]（1年）

総トン数500未満の船舶の船長または航海士として、または、あらゆる総トン数の船舶で、当直甲板員として働くことを目的とした内容です。

コースでは、安全、コミュニケーション、船の知識、シミュレートされた環境での消火活動、サバイバルスキルや救助、荒れた海で船員の結び目やヒッチを船に結び付ける方法、見張り、操舵室の操作、環境管理、定期保守、記録と航海日誌の保持、通信と安定性について乗組員に指示するためのスキルトレーニングなどが含まれます。

※オーストラリア海上安全局AMSA（Australian Maritime Safety Authority)のDeck Watchkeeperの認定要件を満たすには、36ヶ月の海上勤務などの追加条件が必要となります。規制要件のライセンス情報は、AMSAのサイトをご参照ください。

Advanced Diploma of Maritime Operations [Master Unlimited]（1年）

船の最高責任者（船長）として、船舶の安全性、ブリッジおよび貨物操作、安定性、船舶管理、建設およびメンテナンスの分野に適した実践的なスキルと知識を習得します。

コースでは、海上安全、橋梁および貨物の運用、安定性、海事法、船舶管理、建設および保守の分野における船舶の管理に適した実践的なスキルと知識を提供します。また、船舶の取り扱いスキル、航海の安全性とコマンド操作、および管理スキルも学びます。

このコースへの入学を希望する学生は、すでに500GT以上の船舶で、甲板見張員としての能力証明書を所持し、24時間以上の航海で航海見張員を担当しているなど、AMSA（オーストラリア海上安全局）による要件を満たしている必要があります。規制要件のライセンス情報は、AMSAのサイトをご参照ください。

英語力はどれぐらい必要？

コースによりIELTS Academic 6.0または7.0か同等以上

TAFE WAのDiploma of Maritime Operations [Watchkeeper Deck]コースに直接入学する場合、IELTS 6.0（アカデミックモジュールで各バンド6.0以上）または同等レベルの英語力証明が必要です。

TAFE WAのAdvanced Diploma of Maritime Operations [Master Unlimited]コースに直接入学する場合、IELTS 7.0（アカデミックモジュールで各バンド7.0以上）または​同等レベルの英語力証明が必要です。

英語力が足りない場合はどうすればいい？

TAFE WAが提携する英語学校とセットにした留学プランがあります。まず、はじめに英語コースに通い、指定のコースを修了することで、IELTSやTOEFLの提出が免除され、そのまま専門コースに進学できます。

その際、英語コースにどれだけ通えばいいか？は、個々の英語力により異なります。まずは日本でIELTS Academic、または、TOEFL iBTのどちらかを受けられた後、その結果をこちらからお知らせください。
